Release notes
What has changed for the people who use Eneo, newest release first. The same notes appear inside the app under What’s new in the account menu. Notes for developers and operators — dependency bumps, migrations, deployment changes — live in the GitHub releases .
In the standard Eneo app, each release candidate announces its news once per user unless you request a reminder: seeing RC0 does not dismiss RC1 or the final release. Candidates share the release’s notes rather than adding duplicate entries here. Opening the What’s new page marks that installed version as read; dismissing the popup alone does not mark it as read.
The app shows news according to your actual permissions, including the counts, area filters and guided tour links. Administrator access does not automatically include news about every feature. General news remains available to everyone. Releases with no visible entries do not appear in the release picker or trigger an announcement; the unread indicator only counts releases with visible news. The documentation below always shows the complete release history.
Choose Later to see the announcement again on your first visit after 24 hours, unless you have already opened the news. The reminder is saved for your account in the current browser. Choose Not interested to dismiss this version; the next version can still announce its news. Escape also dismisses the dialog. Opening the news cancels its reminder; a reminder never delays a newer version. In development, Reset and reload clears both the browser’s current reminder and the server’s seen/announced markers so the announcement can appear immediately.
In the app, What’s new shares the account sidebar with My account,
Integrations and API keys. Select What’s new there to browse releases.
The page is available at /news; older /whats-new links redirect there.
The notes use the available width beside the sidebar. On smaller screens, open
the Account and settings menu button to switch between these pages.
Version 2.3.0
2 November 2026- NewChat
Create, edit and restore documents
When file creation is enabled for your assistant, you can follow a document as it is written in the side panel and download it as Word or PDF, including charts. In the standard Eneo app, you can also edit the text yourself, save a new version, compare changes and restore an earlier version. Open files from the Files and views panel to preview them before downloading.
- NewChat
Explore CSV and Excel files in chat
When the Ask a file function is enabled for your assistant, you can ask questions about CSV and Excel files. In the file preview, select a cell or row and choose Ask about selection to include it in your next message. Expand an analysis step to see which file was used and what was done. If interactive views are turned on for your installation, results also appear in tables you can sort and filter.
- NewChat
Calculate and create charts
Assistants with the Compute and Charts functions enabled can calculate exactly from your figures and draw bar, line, pie and scatter charts, which can also be included in Word and PDF documents. If interactive views are turned on for your installation, charts are interactive, and for calculations based on values you supplied you can change the inputs and choose Run again.
- ImprovedChat
Send messages while files are uploading
Your message appears in chat as soon as you submit it, even while attachments are uploading; you can stop it there, and your draft is restored if sending fails. The Files and views panel groups uploads by question for preview and download; attaching the same file again reuses its upload in the conversation. Multiple attachments are grouped to keep the chat readable.
- NewAssistants
Choose how assistants read attached files
For each file attached to an assistant, you can choose whether its contents are always included or read only when needed. New attachments default to on-demand reading, while existing attachments keep their previous behaviour. Use always-included files for material the assistant needs in every conversation.
- ImprovedKnowledge
Follow and control website indexing
You can follow website indexing with clearer progress and status, stop a running crawl and start it again. Synchronize, stop or remove several websites at once. Administrators can also review crawls across the organisation under Administration › Crawler.
- FixedSpaces
Keep resources when changing a Space
Changing a Space or one of its resources preserves other assistants, group chat members and saved selections, including resources that are temporarily unavailable. Memberships also remain when a removed user is reactivated.
- FixedPlatform
Understand why a request failed
When an assistant's reply fails, you get a clearer reason, such as an unavailable model or a usage limit, and whether trying again can help. File uploads tell you which storage quota is full, and when an MCP tool refuses access you get a hint about permissions and credentials next to the original error.
- ImprovedSpaces
Check knowledge when moving an assistant
Collections and websites can no longer be moved between Spaces. When you move an assistant, its knowledge does not move with it; check and attach the knowledge it needs in the destination Space.
- ImprovedAdministrationAdministrators
Manage permissions in grouped roles
Under Administration › Roles, permissions are grouped by area so you can more easily review what a role allows. Use the redesigned editor when creating or updating roles.
- ImprovedAdministrationAdministrators
Enable and check built-in tools
On the Functions tab under Administration › Tools, you can turn on Ask a file, Create a file, Compute and Charts, and check the status of the tool service. Connection and version problems include guidance on what to do next. Users also need the corresponding role permissions, and the function must be turned on for the Space and the assistant.
- NewAdministrationAdministrators
Word and PDF files follow your document template
Under Administration › Tools › Functions › Create a file, in Document templates, you can upload your organisation's Word templates and make one the default. Documents the assistants create as Word or PDF are written in the template's own styles, with its header, footer and logo, and PDFs are tagged for accessibility. An assistant can be set to another template or to Eneo's built-in one, which you can download and adapt in Word.
- NewAdministrationAdministrators
Send headers to self-hosted models
When you add or edit a vLLM provider under Administration › Models, you can set outbound headers that are sent with every request: fixed text, or attributes from your identity provider such as department or cost centre. A gateway or proxy in front of the model can then route, meter or rate-limit requests by them, and Preview for a user shows what a chosen user's requests would send.
- ImprovedAdministrationAdministrators
Use HTTPS for MCP servers with credentials
MCP servers that use credentials must now connect over HTTPS, except for local loopback addresses. Review existing server addresses under Administration › Tools and update external HTTP addresses before using them again.
- FixedAdministrationAdministrators
Entra ID users get their account on first sign-in again
Entra ID does not send the verified-email flag that automatic account creation has required since 2.2, so new users were refused on their first sign-in. Eneo now accepts Entra's own verified-domain claim instead. Add it as an optional ID-token claim in the app registration, as described in the OIDC guide; the allowed-domain list and the provisioning setting still apply.
Version 2.2.0
7 October 2026- NewSkills
Skills: reusable instructions for assistants and apps
Split long assistant and app prompts into named Skills that you can reuse, version and restore; each assistant keeps the exact version it was built with. A Skill can be Always on or On demand, loaded only when the question calls for it, and a note above the answer shows when one was used.
- NewAdministrationAdministrators
Govern Skills across the organisation
Organisation Skills are reviewed and published in one place. Administrators can see where each Skill is used, roll a published version out to every assistant, app and the personal chat in one run, and block a Skill immediately in an incident.
- ImprovedChat
Assistants search their knowledge only when needed
Knowledge is no longer pushed into every message. The assistant searches when a question calls for it, can describe what a source covers without searching, and reads the passages around a match for better context. Tools keep working for assistants with knowledge attached.
- NewChat
Edit and vary images
Attach an image and ask for a variation or an edit, or follow up on an image the assistant just generated, for example "make it bluer". Image generation is shown in your language and long generations no longer time out.
- NewChat
Copy answers as rich text
The copy button on an answer can copy as Markdown or as rich text that pastes cleanly into Word and email. Pick your default under My account.
- NewAdministrationAdministrators
Choose providers for web search and image generation
Web search and image generation are now capabilities you connect under Administration › Tools: an external tool server, or for images a model from your own model catalogue. Per tool server you can choose to forward the user's identity, and turning a server off for the organisation now takes effect for assistants that already had it.
- NewAdministrationAdministrators
Govern the personal assistant centrally
Under Administration › Personal assistant you decide which models and tools the personal chat may use, its default instructions from a prompt library, the reasoning level and whether users may change it, and how large attachments are handled.
- ImprovedChat
Compare models before you pick one
The model picker shows a preview of the highlighted model: guidance from your administrators, context size, capabilities and, where the organisation allows it, price. In space settings, the available completion, embedding and transcription models are listed together, grouped by provider.
- ImprovedChat
Clearer tool use and smoother answers
Tool calls show their parameters and response in one panel, built-in tools appear as compact steps, and a tool can ask you a question mid-call. While an answer streams, citations no longer flash as raw text and long answers render faster. Code blocks are highlighted for their language, and your tool choices in the personal chat are remembered between sessions.
- ImprovedChat
Attachments: images in PDFs, JSON and XML
Vision-capable models can read images embedded in PDFs and documents, JSON and XML files can be attached, and you can pick the same file again after removing it. The assistant reads attached files reliably instead of asking you to upload them again. The context meter now counts the assistant's instructions and attachments before you type, and measures the final request rather than every step of a turn.
- NewKnowledge
Download the original file
New uploads keep the exact original. Where it is kept, the knowledge view shows it and lets you download the file exactly as it was uploaded.
- ImprovedKnowledge
Knowledge stays available and safe while it changes
A document that is being re-processed stays searchable until the new version is ready, and a failed update changes nothing. Uploads are no longer lost if a background worker restarts, and a failed upload tells you why. A file that a chat, assistant or app still uses is protected from deletion, and you can see what is using it first.
- ImprovedAssistants
The Prompt Guide asks better questions
The guide that helps you write an assistant's instructions now offers multiple-choice questions where several answers apply and produces higher-quality instructions.
- NewAccount
Change your own password
If you sign in with a password you can now change it yourself under My account. Other devices where you are signed in are logged out when the password changes.
- ImprovedAccount
Old API keys that were never used stop working
Keys created before the current API key system and used since then keep working. Keys from the old system that have not been used at all are retired; create a new key under My API keys if you need one.
- ImprovedPlatform
Faster start, clearer sign-in, fewer error pages
The app loads noticeably faster and an intermittent error page when opening the workspace is gone; when something does fail, the message shows the actual error. The sign-in page has been rebuilt with clearer error messages, better support for screen readers and keyboard navigation, and your email address stays filled in after a failed attempt.
- NewAdministrationAdministrators
Manage file storage
Administration › Storage shows what is using file storage, lets you set upload limits without restarts, connect an S3-compatible object store for new files, and move existing content between the database and object storage. The database remains the default.
- FixedPlatform
Files are deleted after their last use
When a conversation or app run is deleted, by you or by a retention setting, the files only it used are deleted too, including recordings and transcriptions. Files nothing uses anymore are removed daily.
- NewAdministrationAdministrators
Install modules for your organisation
Optional modules such as speech-to-text are installed, configured and removed under Administration › Modules, and users sign in to them with their Eneo account.
- ImprovedAdministrationAdministrators
Model administration refinements
Deprecation warnings appear only in the six months before the date, usage can be migrated away from a disabled model, price visibility for users can be turned off per organisation, and a missing encryption setup is explained instead of failing silently.
- ImprovedAdministrationAdministrators
Filter users across all pages
Role, email and username filters apply to the whole organisation and survive paging and switching between active and inactive users. Admin pages also work in narrow windows and on iPads.
Version 2.1.1
26 August 2026- FixedKnowledge
Website crawling works again
Adding a website as knowledge failed after a dependency update. Crawling, including sites served over HTTPS, works as before.
Version 2.1.0
12 June 2026- NewAssistants
Get help writing an assistant's instructions
When editing an assistant, a Prompt Guide can interview you about what the assistant should do and turn the answers into instructions you can apply. Your administrator enables it under Help assistants.
- NewChat
Rename conversations
Give a conversation a name of your own from the history list, next to delete.
- ImprovedChat
Stopped answers are kept
If you stop an answer while it is being written, your question and the part of the answer that arrived stay in the conversation.
- ImprovedChat
Clear message when the AI provider is down
When the model provider cannot be reached you get a clear, retryable message instead of a generic error.
- FixedChat
WebP and AVIF images can be uploaded
Uploading an image in these formats used to fail with an error.
- ImprovedPlatform
New header and theme switch
The header has a new look with an initials avatar. Light, dark and system theme are chosen from the account menu, and dark mode covers the pages that were still light.
- ImprovedPlatform
Expand a failed upload to see why
Failed jobs in the notification panel are compact by default; click one to read the full message.
- ImprovedAssistants
New knowledge picker when editing assistants
Choosing collections, websites and individual sources for an assistant has a new, accessible design, and paging through many sources works as expected.
- FixedSpaces
Personal space opens for everyone
For some users the personal space failed to load because of an older service setting. It now loads regardless.
- ImprovedAccount
API keys can clean up their own files
A personal API key with file administration rights can delete files it uploaded, so automated runs can tidy up after themselves.
- NewAdministrationAdministrators
Grant the personal chat on its own
A new Personal chat permission lets you give users the chat without access to assistants, for example during a staged rollout.
- ImprovedAdministrationAdministrators
Redesigned model administration
Deprecated models are clearly flagged, the models table shows lifecycle state and actions, migration warnings are split by severity with a deliberate override for hard blockers, display names must be unique, and Azure models appear as expected.
- ImprovedAdministrationAdministrators
Audit log events in Swedish and English
Event and category names in the audit settings follow the interface language, and every event type has a label.
- NewAdministrationAdministrators
Automatic user provisioning with SCIM
Users and groups can be created, updated and deactivated from your identity provider, for example Microsoft Entra ID, through the SCIM 2.0 standard.
